GROUP WORKOUTS

Please be sure to do a reality check with the other club members on our Yahoo email list prior to the workouts! Things may change from time to time.

Swim: Dorchester County Family YMCA, Cambridge

From Coach Rebecca Fox, March 2009: "We now have a sign up for the group swims for non-Y members. It is $20 for 8 sessions. These sessions don't have to be swam concurrently, but can be spaced out over the year. The Y will give the person signing up a card that can be punched each time they come until they have used their sessions up."

Wednesdays, 6:30 PM: Coach Rebecca Fox leads swim workouts at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.  Workouts typically last 90 minutes.

Fridays, 6:00 PM: Informal group swim.

Bike:
All meet at Dorchester County Family YMCA, Cambridge. Times listed are departure times, please have tires pumped, water bottles filled, and be ready to depart on time.

1. For 2009 we will meet on Tuesdays and Sundays.  In the past, we had 2 weeknight and 1 weekend group ride but the popularity of the Wednesday night swims and the Thursday night runs led to the decision to only meet on Tuesdays and Sundays.

2. The first Tuesday group bike ride is Tuesday March 17th. We will depart from the YMCA at 5:30.  The route is :
                  YMCA to Egypt Road
                  { Bailout on Old Field to Church Creek }
Egypt Road to Key Wallace Road
Key Wallace Road to Maple Dam Road
Maple Dam Road back to the YMCA

3.  If you can't make the 5:30 start just ride the course in reverse or meet the group as we pass Maple Elementary School on Egypt Road, very approximately at 5:45.

4. For the first 2 weeks of March we will have only one group and it will be NO DROP  with the exception of the last 5 miles where we can sprint.

5. Starting  Tuesday March 31st we will have 2 or 3 group leaders with different speeds and distances.

---Group Riding Etiquette---

Please read before attending a club ride!

Local rides also often happen in Talbot County, usually leaving from the YMCA in Easton, MD.  Check on the Talbot County Multi-Sport group.
